Perfect Winter Protection For Your Skin

With the white glittery snow comes less cheerful things like cold, dry air that makes makeup application harder. We have all experienced issues like dry skin, oily patches, blotchiness and flakiness after being exposed to the cold air. Going through all that with makeup on usually makes the situation even worse as most times, the makeup dries up (and looks cakey) or moves around the face in a weird way.

Here are some tips to help you perfect your foundation application for an all day flawless look!

  • Exfoliate

The cold air makes the dry skin cells on our faces even more obvious, leaving the skin with dry patches. Exfoliate your skin twice in a week to get rid of the flaky skin. Doing this would leave you with smooth, clear skin.

  • Use a Hydrating Cleanser

They are not harsh on your skin and work to protect and boost your skin’s moisture content. Hydrating cleansers usually contain ingredients that keep your skin healthy in harsh weather conditions. We recommend using the Morning Glory Hydration Cleanser.

  • Moisturize Properly

Keep your skin soft and smooth by moisturizing it with the Blue Ribbon Face Moisturizer. It is a very hydrating but non greasy formula that would keep your skin soft and supple all day. Your foundation needs a good base for flawless application.

  • Use a Hydrating Primer To Form a Barrier

The theme to this routine is hydration - that is the best way to battle the dry air. Use a hydrating primer that would absorb your foundation properly and give a good barrier between the makeup and your skin.

  • Use a Liquid Foundation

To avoid the possibility of getting cake faced, use only liquid foundations like the Rio Grande Liquid Foundation. They hold some amount of moisture that would make them a better option for winter makeup. Apply your foundation using the Foundation Sponge Applicator. Unlike a foundation brush, pressing the sponge into your skin doesn’t pose any risk for irritation. Most people develop sensitive skin during this season so the sponge applicator is the best option.

  • Set Your Foundation With Finishing Powder

To help your makeup last even longer, set it using the Let’s Ride Finishing Powder.
