Makeup Is All About Creating Illusions.
With the right products, you can choose to enhance your favorite features, tone down some parts, and create a look that works for you.
What you need to know about using the right shades.
This is your Picasso moment. Learn which shades give certain effects. Dark shades create shadows that tone down that area of your face. Light shades attract light, which enhances that area of your face.
If you want to give your face a slimmer look, you can achieve the best results with these simple tips.
How to Make Your Face Look Slimmer.
To do this, you need to work on your cheeks, jaw, and forehead.
Cheeks
For your cheeks, use your contour color and a brush or makeup sponge. Trace a line from your lower ear to the center of your cheek, right under your cheekbone.
Use your fingers to feel the sides of your face if you are not sure of where your cheekbones are exactly. The curved bump right in the middle of the sides of your face is your cheekbone. The contour shade should be applied right under it.
Jaw
For your jaw, apply your contour shade or bronzer along your jawline and blend in with your brush.
Forehead
Again, using your brush, blend your contour color into your temples, up into your hairline on both sides of your face. This technique will help bring out the angular qualities of your bone structure.
After contouring your cheeks and forehead, make sure to go in with your finishing powder and a powder brush to softly blend it all in and get rid of any harsh contour lines.
Use your highlighter and a small fan brush to highlight the center of your face, the highest points of your cheekbone and your cupid’s bow. This technique will help draw light to those parts of your face, bringing them forward and reducing the width of your face for a slimmer look.
How to Make Your Nose Look Slimmer
Using a thin brush, apply your contour shade down both sides of your nose, stopping right before you get to the nostrils. Blend out the lines with your finishing powder and apply highlighter at the pointed end of your nose. You will instantly see the difference.
Cowgirl Tip: For a slimmer face, make your eyebrow arch as high and pronounced as possible while still keeping it natural. A high eyebrow arch gives the face an instant lift because of the vertical pull, giving the illusion of a slimmer face.
